It's given me a place of belonging, and yet, I knew that I was an outsider. It's given me the opportunity to explore my dominant, boss bitch side when working with artists. However, as I got older, I cultivated a new community that I didn't think existed, and man, am I thankful for it. This photoshoot is special to me, not only because it incorporates my culture with my love for the genre, something which inherently makes Spice on the Beat what it is, but also because of who helped make this happen. Everyone who contributed to these photos were incredible Brown, female entrepreneurs working against stigmas and stereotypes to create and provide something new to the world.
